Startup Weekend Makes its San Diego Debut August 20th - August 22nd

STARTUP WEEKEND MAKES ITS SAN DIEGO DEBUT AUGUST 20TH - AUGUST 22ND
**Entrepreneurs, creatives and techies gather to create companies in 54 hours**

SAN DIEGO - Entrepreneurs from a variety of professional disciplines will gather Friday, August 20th at 5:30 p.m. for the inaugural Startup Weekend San Diego, August 20th - 22nd. Hosted at theHIVE, located at 770 11th Street, Startup Weekend San Diego will bring together entrepreneurs to take a business idea from concept to inception within a period of 54 hours. On Sunday, August 20th, at 5:30 p.m. teams will pitch the newly formed companies and demo prototypes to an expert panel of CEO judges and angels investors.

Registration is open to anyone that wants to participate in the development of a new company. Startup Weekend enthusiasts include:
• Developers
• Graphic artists
• Marketing and public relations professionals
• Business development professionals
• Legal counsel
• Individuals thinking about founding a startup

Mike Alfred, CEO of BrightScope, Inc., Frank Peters, angel investor and host of The Frank Peters Show, and FutureWave Co-Founder Charlie Jackson will judge teams and provide expertise over the course of the weekend. The winning team will be awarded $2,000 in legal fees from platinum sponsors Cooley LLP.
